2018 Honda Accord Engine Power

The 2018 Honda Accord has been completely redesigned from the ground up this year. Not only does it sport a sleek new look, but it's driving on a new platform. All of the engines in the lineup are now turbocharged four-cylinders. While some may lament the loss of the former V6 engine, the new models get plenty of power with superior fuel efficiency.

It starts with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four cylinder which gives you 192 horsepower and an equivalent torque rating. From there you can step up to a 2.0-liter four which gives an impressive 252 horsepower with 270 lb.-ft. of torque. Both of these are available with a six-speed manual, and the 1.5-liter can be had with a CVT, while the 2.0-liter gets a 10-speed automatic.

Hybrid fans will rejoice to hear that the hybrid unit is also returning this year with a 2.0-liter inline 4 with dual electric motors powered by a lithium-ion battery. The total power is 212 horsepower, between the 1.5-liter and the 2.0-liter four gas models.

Honda Accord Fuel Economy Ratings

The Accord continues to get outstanding EPA-estimated fuel economy. The 1.5-liter four cylinder is rated at 30 mpg city and 38 mpg highway.¹ We haven't yet seen ratings for the 2.0 liter or the hybrid, but it stands to reason the 2.0 liter gas will get slightly less, and the hybrid probably quite a bit more. Overall, you'll save a lot of money on gas with the Accord.

Honda Technology and Safety

The technology you've always loved from the Honda Accord is still there, and includes LED headlights, rearview camera, the Honda infotainment system with 7-inch touchscreen, USB and Bluetooth. At higher levels, you get remote start, moonroof, smartphone app integration through Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, keyless start and entry, CVT paddle shifters, power seats, 10-speaker stereo, driver memory settings and more.

All models get the Honda Sensing active safety suite as standard, meaning the very best complete set of safety features around from crash warning and mitigation to lane departure to pedestrian and road sign detection and more.
